Envisioning a Vibrant Neighborhood Community for Generations to Come

For decades, Fresh Meadows has been a welcoming community providing high-quality and affordable housing to generations of New York families. We are proud that so many families have been able to call Fresh Meadows their home.

Fresh Meadows Vision is a long-term plan to keep our community thriving for generations to come. In collaboration with local leaders and community members, we are thoughtfully planning improvements to the Fresh Meadows community that we would roll out in phases over the course of several years, including:

  • Add up to 2,000 high-quality mixed-income apartment units

  • Add approximately 1,800 new parking spaces

  • Enhance green spaces and outdoor gathering areas

  • Add indoor community recreation space

  • Enhance childcare and senior care facilities

  • Add community-oriented retail along 188th Street

  • Upgrade pipes and drainage systems to prevent flooding

  • Improve waste management throughout the community

  • Protect the welcoming and familiar character of the Fresh Meadows community and the environment that surrounds it

A Community-Driven Vision

We believe it is vital to actively engage with and listen to the local community so Fresh Meadows continues to be a reflection of our residents and a highly desirable home for future generations. We are having these conversations with our current residents, New York City officials, and other members of our local community to gather feedback as we continue to develop the Fresh Meadows Vision.
